Sorry to hear that, I sincerely wish him the best and I hope he feels better soon. He runs a "business" though and it's his "sole" responsibility to fulfill these orders in a timely manner. As long as he's taking our money he should have someone in place to handle the distribution if he's too sick to manage on his own. I would bet the orders are backed up for the next 6 months or more if he doesn't get on top of it soon. It sounds like he's effectively sitting on the stock at this point? No last minute "rights" issue delaying the release, simply his inability to get down to the task at hand. I considered placing an order this week, but after reading all the negative feedback across social media, I'm going to wait this out and hopefully find another seller to purchase from in the future. I don't know how he stays in business with such a horrible work ethic.

Jiffy bags or whatever should have been labeled and addressed previously and it shouldn't be difficult to find someone to help bag these up and nip to a nearby post office, If he lived anywhere near me I would have been happy to give up a couple of hours to help and avoid the current embarrassing situation....

This is where I'm torn on the subject: I appreciate that this is a niche business that's run mainly on passion and also one that might struggle to pay the rent at times. I understand that there's an awful lot of volunteers involved who research, catalogue and help transfer old recordings. I appreciate that there's only one guy involved with running Kaleidoscope. I know myself that you can take on projects like this as a "labour of love" and it becomes all-consuming and even out-facing... But as others have pointed out, it's still a business and we're still paying customers. If this DVD was £5, I'd kind of understand and accept the situation, but it's nearly £28 including the postage, which is actually probably the most expensive DVD I've ever bought. I'm sorry that the guy has had Covid, but would a quick message on the website or post on Facebook just letting us know have gone amiss? And why say that it was all dealt with on the 27th, which was still quite a few weeks on from the original due date? I did post on Facebook about it and funnily enough, similar comments from other customers disappeared and the commenting was turned off on my post. If they've got time to police the Facebook group that closely, then there's certainly time to just make a quick statement to keep everyone up to date. As I said, other than a PayPal receipt, I actually have nothing confirming my order or letting me know what's going on with it. That kind of automatic email is free to set up for most websites that have an e-commerce section and it would just really quash any queries and save dozens of individuals pursuing Chris personally.

Sadly as my own past experience with Kaleidoscope proved, they are alarmingly casual and given that was a few years ago, it's absurd they haven't pulled their socks up to be a bit more professional. Yes, funny they have time to switch off Facebook comments but no time to issue a statement or apology, let alone mail out the DVD's.

I've known a few people who have very mixed feelings about him based on his attitude and the way he's operated. To learn some are still waiting for their RSG DVD's? Sorry, but that's bang out of order as that was a limited run and should have all been sent out by now. I'm glad I decided to pass on that and holding out on this Hollies DVD.

I bought The Hollies Colour me pop dvd on the 2nd and then I sent an email asking about RSG set. This Chris told me that “ It was only available for sale for a limited time and sold out.” .Then 5 minutes after I received another email saying “Actually having seen you bought Hollies. I do still have two RSG sets left if you want to buy one via a paypal invoice.” Ok (he still charging me twice for the hollies dvd shipping £5 + RSG shipping £5). After one week without any news I sent another email asking about any update…. here what I get “ Covid has swept through us , it will next week before we can oblige, sorry.” I begged for an update or something asap. Like the fact that he always refers as WE, when in fact it is just a guy and not a corporation. Leave alone a profesional reply throught email. After 15 days y decided that I had enough and I wanted my money back (£110 in total throught Paypal). I told him that as it was a present ,after 15 days it was too late …then I get a (copy/paste no edit here …just to show their professional emails) “ I didn’t know that but Christmas is coming aswell”. I replied that I will pass. After 3 hours no refund at all , so O went to paypal and open a case. I get my full refund but he alleged that “ I haven’t give them -them not him- enough time to do the refund” 😂😂😂 Looks like a scam (probably is not at all) but the ways that this guy has to operate are horrid. Never again.

I ordered the "Ready Steady Go" DVD set by them, orders began shipping out the last week of Sept. Still haven't received mine, sent "Chris" 2 emails, he's not much help other than "they've been sent out". Someone in another forum stated he was sending them out in "batches". They supposedly made 800 copies of these RSG sets, I guess my batch (me being in the USA) might be the last one shipped, ugh. Others in the UK have received theirs though... I got my RSG set eventually (and it's great), but 2-3 weeks after several other people. Hi! could you upload some pics of the RSG set? As someone said before “it is so limited that O was unable to find any picture on the web”.. cheers

My hope is someone finally gets a copy and posts it on YouTube, This is the problem: we want to support our favourite artists (not that I think that the Hollies benefit financially from this release?) and support these independent companies who do great things for the fans, but when it's so expensive to buy the limited releases, to then have all this messing about, I can totally understand why people just bootleg things on YouTube. It's just easier, and ensures fair access to the footage for all. Surely it must be viable to employ someone - even a temporary agency worker - to get all this stuff posted out in a timely manner. You can't tell me that at £28 for a single DVD, there's not a considerable markup in that which would allow them to pay someone £30 an hour to sort postage and packaging. All its done is wind us all up and put us all off supporting Kaleidoscope in the future, which is a real shame.
