60 years ago Tonight at 8 PM The Beatles’ first appearance on the International stage took place on The Ed Sullivan Show, and overnight everything changed. Not that you Britishers give a damn. It ruined them. They were much more exciting before international fame, followed swiftly by marijuana and LSD, which took the spark out of their music. A far more important anniversary will be 66 years on 1st March 1958, when Buddy Holly and The Crickets started their UK tour. It really did change the world in the long-term. Not that you Yanks give a damn. www.americanrocknrolluktours.co.uk/tour/buddy-holly-and-the-crickets-march-1958/

Wow, that was some tour, Peter. 25 consecutive days, up and down the country - and before the days of motorways!
