Colleagues from Beatleg forum start to issue new sourced material of Pop Go the Beatles shows. Emerged 5 new Hollies tracks from August 13 1963 show in superb quality. Fortune Teller, What Kind of Girl, Searchin (previously well known in circulation with trash bin quality), Go Go Go (never heard this before), Aint That Just Like Me. forum.beatlegdb.com/viewtopic.php?t=8184&start=110

Go Go Go is from Chuck Berry I know that song well, but wasn't aware that The Hollies covered it for radio. Anyone got a link to the song?

Ahhh... just found it! Not bad at all, but not a patch on ol' Chuckles' great original.

Great to hear. Thanks for sharing.
They sound really good for so early in their careers. I assume that's Don Rathbone? There doesn't seem to be much drumming going on in comparison to the Beatles track I sampled.

Amazing quality, I'm genuinely delighted with this discovery. This is the earliest known session for the Hollies at the BBC and I believe Don Rathbone's only one...? It's amazing to hear him play 'Fortune Teller' and 'What Kind Of Girl', knowing what Bobby Elliott would bring to the group soon after. This is before they'd record their debut album, so it's really early days of the group. Straight away you can hear how tight the vocals are, how great Tony Hicks and Eric Haydock are and even Don Rathbone puts on a good show.
It's time there was a proper 'Hollies At The BBC' set, not the two hash-ups that officially circulate. There's a true treasure trove of live material, all of which survives and circulates in better quality than what we got on the official set in many cases. It's the first week of January and already this year has been good to us!

Maybe you need to contact the 'London Calling' label? They've done some excellent "grey market" releases in recent years, mainly of BBC recordings. www.discogs.com/label/1329842-London-Calling-2

I missed the original downloads so a nice morning listening to some of these. Nice to hear The Hollies at this early stage. Fab also to enjoy the sessions by The Swinging Blue Jeans and Johnny Kidd and The Pirates. Kidd's set is pretty impressive - powerful band.
