Itās out on Spotify and YouTube - I suspect all the other major streaming services too.
Iām not too enamoured with the song yet, to be honest. My main gripe with Allanās recent material has been the production, and itās still a little too electronic and obviously Garageband-based for my tastes. A song like this should sound light and organic, not computer-programmed.
Great to hear Allan and Graham singing together after all these years though. The harmonies are a bit lower than before, but they still sound great together.

What a cute little song, like a bit of a send-up of Buddy Holly in a way. I'm not really a Buddy Holly fan, but I liked the song nonetheless. How thrilling to hear Graham and Allan singing together again after all these years! How youthful does Graham sound on those high harmonies compared to his recent solo stuff? What have these two been wasting time doing, they should be making music together like this still all the time, they sound great together still! I'm very excited for the album now.
Love the music lyric video too, lots of little cryptic things hidden there to keep fans interested. I agree with one of the comments above about the production, it could have been really lifted to another level there with some real-sounding drums and go the whole hog with a 1950s skiffle-esque backing to the fore. But whatever, new music from Allan and Graham is something that none of us ever thought we'd hear, and I'm delighted that they're still making music after all these years. I suspect this is the closest we'll ever get to a new Hollies album. Wouldn't it have been incredible to get Tony's lead guitar all over that track and Bobby's drums pounding away... I can dream, can't I?

ā„ļøOkay, Allan's friend was spot on- should never have doubted him- sorry! Love the graphics and theme they've got going on there. So great to hear them back together, and that wonderful blend again! I have a feeling that this may not be representative of the rest of the album though? ...In a positive way,I mean?

I love it. I'm trying to think of other Buddy Holly tribute records - Mike Berry and Alvin Stardust immediately come to mind. This is right up there.

So here are the credits, including Shane, Graham's guitarist ,Todd, his drummer, and an upright bassš I think this , because it was written by Graham, probably has the most input from him? I believe the rest is Allan's baby.š

"Grahamās beautiful trademark harmonies are present throughout the album, but this is very much Allanās record, tackling spirituality and redemption as well as romance in The Presence Of You: the first love song Allan has written for his wife Jennifer (the āJenniferā in The Holliesā classic Jennifer Eccles) after 59 years of marriage."
From the album blurb. So pleased to hear that it IS Allan's babyš Apparently, the single is going to be on Graham's solo album too.

Just heard this now and it's really made my day! š I agree that the production could have done with sounding less electronic, but that aside, it's still a great song and most importantly, it's Allan and Graham singing together again!!! (IIRC the last studio recording they both sung on was Peggy Sue Got Married from '96, so I feel like this nicely picks up from that in a way.)
Lastly, I also really like how Allan is leaning into more of a retro style with the promotional visuals like the video as well as the album cover!

Really enjoy the song, gee Allan and Graham sound so good together. I'm really happy for Allan to be back going what he obvious loves doing, singing and recording.
