Hi All, Have just got wind of local Australian DVD distributor/producer Umbrella Entertainment - whom, having issued a heap of discs of Australian Bandstand complete episodes in the past 12 months - are set to release more in September including a Hermans Hermits/Hollies DVD which will feature two eps on the one disc (at least) with The Hollies 1970 Australian TV Special they filmed for the show of interest to us here.
No, this is not the legendary colour 'Don't Get Sunburnt' 1971 tour doco that is evidently a copyright nightmare and unlikely to ever see full release, but a rather sedate B&W special in which the boys mime along to pre-recorded tracks, though several may be different recordings (and possibly the same as those recorded specially for the BBC TV Golders Green 3 May 1969 special - not sure as I've never compared them).
This 1970 Australian TV material has never otherwise been issued officially and has rarely been swapped amongst Hollies fans on the trading circuit. I haven't checked Youtube lately but I'm guessing it's not to be found there. The performance of He Aint Heavy has been re-used on the Nine Network very occasionally over the years but even this clip remains mostly unseen.
More news on this release shortly and once I've unpacked my boxes, I'll dig out the info for the songs performed. Simon

Nice to see the marketing genius behind this release hasn't lost his touch. I suppose he's following a well-trod path when it comes to The Hollies.

So is it actually live or is it all mimed? Listening to it I would say it's a mix of live and mimed
