The Dude, in the Netherlands, ordered ours to avoid shipping costing more than the book itself! He'll read, then ship it over to me in Canada in a box with a bunch of other stuff. So it will probably be winter reading for me!

So it will probably be winter reading for me! That’s a good idea. Sad this is evidently one of the fallouts from Brexit I guess. It used to be cheaper for me to buy British/European releases straight off Amazon UK instead of as an import on the US site, but now like you say the shipping is more than the product. I hope it doesn’t hurt the people who create in the long run but it’s really tough on the buyer now. Mark

Amazon UK automatically deduct the UK VAT and automatically charge you the VAT of the member state. Buying from a smaller retailer means you'll probably get stung for VAT on arrival. Fortunately books are VAT exempt in Ireland so I won't pay extra.

Postage shocking these days, even posting anything interstate here costs a mint, from all reports it’s a great book so in the end it’s well worth it. Really looking forward to my copy

I've won some free paperback books recently from American authors that they've shipped to me in Canada and the postage averages $20+ US. A big reason e-readers are a thing nowadays...

The Steve Hoffman music forum has plentiful threads about the Hollies, and I'm sure they'd like to know more about the book, Malcolm. Congrats!

I got my collection of the debut album through Romany (including the 2 Greatest Hits for non album singles) from CDJapan a few years ago. Mark

I used to work in customs clearance.

Is this likely to ever be a E-Book. That's how I get my music books these days. No E-Book no copy for me.

Yes, it is a possibility I'm looking into - especially with such ridiculously high postal rates - but I have to sell through the first print run first before I can look at alternate options. Hopefully, by early 2022...?

Received mine without any trouble a few days after ordering it.
In true eccentric Hollies fan style, I started reading it from 1970 (as less is published about then) now have to go back and read the first half!

I started at the end. New to me was that Allan Clarke is diagnosed with prostate cancer. Luckily it might be a mild form.

I started at the end. New to me was that Allan Clarke is diagnosed with prostate cancer. Luckily it might be a mild form. He's been treated, and it's all good, apparently. It was after his treatment that he first started writing again, whilst he was recuperating, he said in an interview.
