From Beat instrumental March 1969,this pic which says Allan wrote Tomorrow when it comes for some other band? Also, Tony Hicks was "in Regent studioA with a Swedish group called Bamboo.Titles were recorded from which will be selected a single release.Among the featured instruments are trumpets ,trombones, saxes and flutes,all played by members of the group themselves." And in same section, going on at the same time, "The Hollies, including new member Terry Sylvester,have been recording a number of songs with Ron Richards."

'Tomorrow When it Comes' was of course written before 1969 - The Hollies then unreleased version was recorded with Graham Nash in the band back over 26-27 March 1968, credited to 'Clarke-Nash'...
as that issue of 'Beat Instrumental' dates from a year later in March 1969 it might be they later then offered the unreleased song to The Stack as they were eager to get other artists to record their material
- just as say they had offered 'Have You Ever Loved Somebody' to The Everlys, Searchers, plus Paul and Barry Ryan leaving a couple of Hollies versions cut with Eric Haydock from March 1966 unissued plus a further unreleased version of 20 June 1966 before finally getting their released version cut on 11 January 1967
Bamboo featuring Mike Rickfors were friends of The Hollies who they had supported in Sweden in 1967 so it's logical Tony was in the studio with them in 1969 and of course remembered Mike later in 1971 when Clarkey departed...
Bamboo of course in 1968 had earlier cut Mike's song 'Touch' on Parlophone as a single which was later recorded by The Hollies, the Bamboo version featured a fascinating arrangement with several notably differing musical styles and instrumentation as opposed to The Hollies more direct 'CSN' influenced acoustic/electric version on 'Romany'

Fascinating stuff. The Bamboo version of touch is so different!!! It always fascinates me how songs can be given so many different treatments...the sign of a good song😉🎶

Did/does Allan write songs on piano (as well as guitar), or was this just used as a prop for the photo?
