If only I knew how to fully utilise it! This world of digital thing - there could be something in it... I will post from time to time with snippets of Hollies stuff but I certainly won't be as active as Mr Sylvester! Oh yeah, it's here (I think!): twitter.com/sixtiespopor just type in Elevated Observations into a Twitter search. Have I done this right?? cheers Simon

Not doing twitter, can't even understand facebook, but no matter, just had to comment on your twitter page header pic of Batley variety club which is only about 10 miles from me and saw them loads of times there and at nearby Wakefield theatre club ( now flattened ), but please keep Elevated Observations alive in its original format....

I go with these guys. Don't do twitter or instagram or the other social media except facebook (and i'm reluctant to do that). This forum in this format must stay alive.

How about a Facebook group for Elevated Observations? A closed one that you have to approve members on, and vet it to allow serious fans on only. The Hollies Facebook groups tend to be slightly overrun by women sharing their Tony Hicks and Allan Clarke fantasises!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Rest assured, though I don't post that often here - me bad - I have no intention of dropping off this forum or letting it side into oblivion. I'll keep posting stuff here from time to time and try to post more often than I do. I do find with my limited spare time that I'm trying to spend the majority of my time doing the detailed Hollies research and writing that needs to be done if I'm ever going to actually get close to finishing what I'd like to achieve. I have at least 20+ interviews to transcribe - most are more than an hour in duration - and this is taking much of time at present.
In terms of Twitter, it's easier to upload media than this site and it's just good to potentially expand the Hollies market a bit as I'm sure there are fans of the Hollies far digitally savvier than myself who have not yet come across this site but have Twitter accounts. Hopefully one will complement the other. The restrictively compact nature of Twitter is kinda cool in forcing you to be succinct. Here on EO, you can can write to your heart's content.
I'm not a big fan personally of closed groups in general. I'm part of several that are closed and have been kept out of another (unrelated to The Hollies) for a sports-related one. I prefer things to be open and everyone have access to at least have the opportunity to read. Though I'm on Facebook (well...barely) I don't post stuff there and rarely intersect beyond an occasional cursory look. I prefer posting at a site like this where it's purely Hollies related chat and mostly always interesting stuff, rather than trawling through endless timelines containing a mixture of friends, family and interests filled with guff. I've also had such a poor rate of success contacting people to interview regarding The Hollies on FB that it has contributed to my dislike of the platform. I'm sure I'm missing out on coming across some great new stuff or fascinating info but hopefully, I'l come by this either here or somewhere else...eventually.

Simon there are some excellent reasonably priced transcription services out there now as it can be done almost completely automated. I found them great for transcribing my masters thesis interviews a couple of years ago. Saved days of time.
