Hi folks,
just having put dozends of pictures and information about Hollies' 45 records on 45.cat, I wonder if there exist 78 records as well. India for example is said having pressed 78s by the Beatles and Cliff Richard between 1963 and 1965. So the Hollies, recording also for EMI and Parlophone, might also be found on 78 discs? BTW, the number of Hollies' entries on 45.cat has by now risen to 917 items. I could think of a lot more contributions by the record collectors on this forum.
Greetings from

India was about the only place I am aware of that may have issued 78s. I am not aware of any but I think of all the people around the Hollies collecting circles Knut Skyberg would have the answer.

I have never seen it described but you never know. Previously undocumented records with The Hollies pop up frequently.

I have done some research. Beatles and Cliff had lots of 78s. Cliff in Turkey and South Africa too. We should look for Hollies 78s in other countries than India too.

Like you Knut, I have never heard of a 78 release for the Hollies. That would be an interesting item to get.

In 25+ years of looking for Hollies rarities, I've never seen a Hollies 78rpm record listed for sale anywhere ever. That's not to say none have ever been produced in the countries listed but if one or two were issued, they will surely be the rarest officially released/able to purchased in an actual music store Hollies discs in existence. I have a couple of Indian pressed 45s but none of these are from the 'early years' - I think On A Carousel is my earliest. So maybe there is a 78rpm with Just One Look on it somewhere!
On the issue of Hollies rare discs, I'm still amazed at some of the discs from Mexico that turn up online. I'd love to see a complete Mexico discography with scans of all the discs and sleeves produced. I once purchased an ep from Mexico perhaps 10 years ago and cruelly it never arrived with me - and I've never seen it advertised since.
Don't think I've ever encountered a Hollieholic from Mexico but maybe there is one who lurks on this forum who could perhaps fill in some blanks here?

There is one - Lani Harrison - on Facebook who showed she has the first Mexico I am missing. Just ordered one PS single I had not seen described. That is On a carousel. The PS might not be official I fear. Just bought Evolution from Venezuela and Lo major from Peru (Would you believe front illustration).

Knut - many people downsize their home as they get older. I think you are bucking the trend - are you building a new storey on your Oslo abode to accommodate all these vinyl purchases? š¤£Thanks for sharing your recent finds and info.

Nice point Gralto. Got hold of the Japanese In the Hollies style red vinyl LP today. Completely different cover. According to Popsike just sold once on eBay but mine was a different source. Still miss the Japanese version of Stay with The Hollies just called The Hollies. And two Japanese singles I can't tell the bottom from the top and Gasoline Alley Bred. Plus the Japanese After The Fox single.
