In all the years of looking out for interesting Hollies vinyl, I've never come across anything pressed or even listed as an export copy sold in Finland? Considering they visited Helsinki several times in the 1960s and even agreed to do a 1969 TV special (notable for being the first time He Ain't Heavy was ever seen on TV anywhere in the world), exactly what were the Fins buying? I assume there was no vinyl being pressed there? If that's the case, were Danish, Swedish or Norwegian (or even Uk) pressed copies being sold in record shops there? Cheers Simon

Of course they had finish vinyl for some time. I own three singles: I'm alive (Parlophone DPY 682); Bus Stop (DPY 702) and Stop, Stop, Stop (DPY 706). Also Here I go again had been released (DPY 665) and Yes I will (DPY 679) You can also see some of them pictured here: www.45cat.com/artist/the-hollies/fi

Well there you go! Thanks for sharing Christocello - would never have thought to have checked in the most obvious place. I cannot recall a Finnish 45 ever appearing on eBay. I assume none of your other 45s from Finland don't come with a picture sleeve?

I suppose they were following the british policy in issuing the records only in paper sleeves from the finish parlophone label but without special picture sleeves. As you were assuming correctly, none of my records came with a picture sleeeve, neither with a company sleeve... Anothe nice site is 7inchrecords.com where you can see lots of Hollies sleeves, but of course no finnish ones. The otherwise pictureque book by Heinz Dietz "Just one look-Hollies Collector's Dreams" lists two finnish records, also without pictures. So perhaps there exist more finnish Hollies records. Maybe Knut - one of the most experienced Hollies fans on this (and the other?) site knows more?

I only have one Finnish single. I first thought it was a Swedish variant but it turned out it was a Finnish single with a company sleeve.
