As follow ups to the 1963-1968 and 1969-1973 sets, I'd suggest two more:
1973-1979
1980-2014
I know it is more "obvious" for the next one to cover all of the remaining Terry/Bernie era recordings, but I think this way it evens things up a bit with regards to running time. Also, I wouldn't be keen on the "final" set just being a 2-disc collection on the remaining Clarke recordings; including Carl Wayne (1 song!) and Peter Howerth eras would give everyone the chance to (more or less) complete their collections with just 4 great sets.
Thoughts?

The next set would be 1973 ('Curly Billy', 'Mexico Gold', etc) to presumably 1979
By going from 1980 ('Soldier's Song' onwards) to date ('Skylarks', maybe hopefully a recording of 'Priceless' ?) I agree would make more sense in that any such box set would then also feature Allan Clarke, Graham Nash & Terry Sylvester besides the Clarke-Hicks-Coates era , the Carl Wayne track & the current Peter Howarth era Hollies songs, thus being a stronger set of interest to older era Hollies fans besides current era Hollies fans too.
Once these two CD sets have been done I think there would be scope for (hopefully) a decent 'Rarities 2' CD set, and also maybe a 'Rockin' collection of the uptempo guitar featured Hollies songs from say 'Hey Whats Wrong With me' (1963) to songs such as 'If You See Her' (2009)
we've had slow ballads, left, right, & centre (more slow ballads we just do NOT need !)...Orchestral Heaven (mostly on slow ballads), 'Love songs' etc - so how about a decent CD set purely devoted to the more powerful side of The Hollies for a change ?

Oops, corrected! Obviously from late 1973 onwards (not 1974).

I think the next boxset will be something along the lines of 1974-2003 or perhaps it'll stretch to 2014/5 or whichever year the boxset is released, if the "Hollies" release any more tracks. Or maybe it'll cover 1974-1993 just to include the Allan Clarke fronted Hollies.
But there would be no point in a 1980 - 2014. Can't see may people wanting to buy that. With the exception of 'Another Night', 'Russian Roulette', most of 'Hollies (1974)' and maybe 'Write On', the best of the Hollies' studio output has already been put together in boxset form.

On the contrary, I think including a Terry Sylvester era album (+ the reunion with Nash) may draw in the more casual consumers who haven't heard much beyond "the hits", and all those hard to find odds & ends will attract the majority of diehards too. But we'll see.

My best suggestion would be a late '73 to the end of the Nash reunion era. Plenty to entice the casual listener. Single-wise a standard (Air), a couple of reasonably good chart performers (Curly Billy and Hollidaze) and an ambitious, relative flop (Soldier's Song), plus a reasonable performance with Stop! In The Name Of Love. Then there's also the chart-performing Hollies ['74] album, the might Live Hits and even the Buddy Holly covers might be of interest - plus Nash's return to the fold. That little lot would surely fill up about 5 or 6 discs? It would also enable access to remastered versions of Russian Roulette, Write On, Live Hits (although a couple of tracks did escape on the 'Another Night' 1998 release), A Crazy Steal, Five Three One Double Seven O-Four and What Goes Around...
It's certainly taken a while for this second box set to surface, hope it isn't as long for the next instalment!
Here's hoping that ridiculous revisionist editing of 'I Can't Tell The Bottom From The Top' of a few years back can be reemployed and result in the removal of that absolutely awful screaming ARP synth from 'Another Night' and 'Star' on the live album!
