Here's an interesting co-incidence
what world famous EMI group had a impressive string of UK hits in the sixties notably between 1964 and 1968, when they topped the UK singles chart, ...and had a massive selling 'hits' album that TOPPED the UK album charts in the late sixties, keeping the likes of The Rolling Stones etc off top spot...
The group recorded a late sixties concert with a 'Live' album in mind....
their VERY distinctive lead vocalist later left the group to begin a solo career....
....and the group later left EMI for Polydor records where they were joined by another talented Blonde Lead vocalist for a 1972 Polydor album and they had one hit record
later the original lead singer rejoined the group and they toured very successfully thereafter...
EMI did a multi CD set devoted to their sixties era a couple of years back....
which group am I referring to...?
NO not The Hollies !
The Seekers...whose lead vocalist Judith Durham later opted out after a string of very big UK hit singles (including chart toppers) on EMI's Columbia label...plus their 'The Best of The Seekers' album topped the UK album chart in 1969....
- they reformed in 1972 on Polydor with blonde singer Louisa Wisseling who sang 'The Sparrow Song' an Australian hit single taken from their Polydor album; 'The Seekers'
Judith Durham later rejoined The Seekers for successful tours...
curious co-incidence to The Hollies career eh ?

And in 1969 a highly successful new group was formed by one of them!
