Can't help but wondering if the Hollies story has come to an end??? As far as I know there's no activity, no news, no interviews, nothing... Does anybody know? ??

Still time for an autumn tour to be announced, but I suspect there might not be one. Peter has a couple of Frontm3n dates in November.

I’m thinking maybe that’s it, no Christmas message, there was always something.

I suppose at that age they could just stop or suddenly have health issues etc.

Hmmm. Bobby is 83 this year and Tony, 78 and there is no "Hollies" without them. What people also tend to forget and overlook is the older they get, the costlier insurance becomes where tours are concerned. It is inevitable the day is coming where there will be no more Hollies. I don't think Bobby and/or Tony would want to pass on their batons to younger guys and keep the name going as there are a fair few 60's bands about with famous names who have zero members who played on any of the records and I don't see that happening with The Hollies and if it did, they would lose a fair amount of respect.
I suspect it's now winding down. We have still to see anything resulting from the big BMG deal and I think it's likely there may be some reissues, a new "hits" package and a little touring activity to promote that then that will be it. I was rather hoping they would have done this last year, celebrate their 60th anniversary and choose that moment to bring it all to a fitting end but they made nothing of that anniversary which I thought was bizarre. We can only but speculate what will happen next but we are gonna have to face the fact that Bobby and Tony don't have many years left in them hence The Hollies are going to cease to be a going concern. Maybe that was one reason behind the BMG deal, cash in before its too late. And no I don't mean "cash in" in a derogatory manner - why not sell their assets whilst they can still enjoy it, leave the legacy to a company who can and will use and exploit for decades to come?

I think there's more to come - I understand Tony and Bobby are getting up there in years, but would be very disappointing if they just decided for the band to go out quietly a few months back.
The best scenario would be maybe the last tour was them catching up on some pandemic era dates and now there's some late anniversary planning going on behind the scenes for something big...? 🤞🤞🤞
(I *STILL* don't suppose there's any prospect of a one-off surviving members reunion show at this stage?)

I'm of the mind that there won't be anymore dates. Bobby in particular has the hardest physical job, as drummer, and it seemed he was pretty tired towards the end of the tour? It's not the performance time alone, it's the exhausting traveling involved which must be the killer. I don't think they like fuss, and personally don't think they would announce a tour as being their last, but suspect the last one was. As someone mentioned, the BMG deal was big, and off the back of that, certainly financially they would not ' need' to tour again. I think that's quite a significant moment, to finish with a deal like that would make sense. And also, personally speaking, I hope they don't tour again. Only because,as a certain generation, their families surely deserve to have them home more, finally! I think it's a good time to stop, but suspect there may not be a big official announcement yet - maybe until they are sure?

I personally think there will be another tour, possibly a final one. I'd be disappointed if Tony and Bobby did not want to thank their fans for years and years of continued support.
