The obits leave out the fact that Laine wrote the wonderful “Say You Don’t Mind”, a Deram solo single as well as a hit several years later for Colin Blunstone. Laine’s Electric String Band was an interesting experiment, with tracks finally released awhile back on an EP.

Denny was an interesting character, by all accounts larger than life in his Brummie days. His Deram era particularly stands out pre-dating what ELO would do by three years. I absolutely adore the B side of the second single "Catherine's Wheel" - great song! It's kinda weird to realise that Mike Pinder is now the sole living original member of The Moody Blues.
