I'd never heard this before but according to Noel Gallagher an ex- Hollies Vox AC30 amp is used on Don't Look Back In Anger.
I've always thought Goodbye Tomorrow sounds similar to this song, in fact I've always heard Goodbye Tomorrow as some sort of proto Oasis song containing their entire sound. So this connection is curious !

Can absolutely see what you mean. Well one or other of the brothers did complement The Hollies on ' having the tunes', so their interest may have been deeper than just the singles, and.....who knows? Inspiration may well have struck?

The Hollies used to play the old OASIS Club in Manchester in the early sixties
- apparently the story goes that it was Noel Gallagher who spotted Tony Hicks a few queues along in a local supermarket and yelled to Tony;
either:
'Love ya band man, ya got the F**king tunes...!'
or
'Love ya F**king band man, ya got the tunes...!'
depending on which source you read, that inspired the live album title; 'We Got the Tunes'
a curious co-incidence is that a young Eric Haydock did look rather like the young Noel Gallagher
