This month (April) Mikael Rickfors released a new album. It's a long and strong string of amazing songs. It's hard to categorize, a mix of soul, blues, jazz and sometimes pop. Some songs are new, some are interpretations of earlier hits and songs. Just the last song is in Swedish (a megahit in Sweden called Vingar meaning Wings), the rest in English. And of course, or maybe as a surprise, there's Mikaels version of "He ain't heavy". Down to the roots.
Just like Allan Clarke his voice has matured and is more bluesy. I think it's just a wonderful album!!! You'll find it on Spotify if you don't want to buy it. It's just called Rickfors. Give it a listen or two and then you're stucked. At least am I.

Many thanks for this information - ordered from Amazon here in the UK for May release. I see it is on Eagle Records - quite a big label.

Very nice. I like his world-weary, rough voice with the pretty strings production.

I heard the opening track “Reason Why” and really liked it. It’s gratifying knowing he still has his muse.
