I came across Terry's new website today. It's quite interesting and contains some new photos and newspaper clippings I've not seen before. What really caught my attention however, were 3 songs by the latter-day Swinging Blues Jeans, featuring Terry on lead vocal, and harmonies by 'new Jean' Mike Gregory and Ray Ennis. 'When I'm 64', the '67 Beatles track, has to be heard to be believed. In places, Terry sounds like a young Paul. It's really something else. Also their take on The Everly's 'Bowling Green' is interesting: The Escorts' vocal sound with former bass man Les Braid now contributing keyboards. The Blue Jeans really expanded their sound with the additions of Sylvester and Gregory, although well after their star had faded.
For those so interested, Terry's new site is well worth a look.

Hi stuball - yes, his new website is looking really good. Will need to have a listen to those tracks. It would be nice to see Terry continue in a positive vein.

Yes James, the new site does look great and hopefully the rancorous recent past, if not forgotten and forgiven, has at least been put to bed for now. You'll notice on page 4 of the photo gallery, there's a pic of Terry on stage at the RRHOF. The accompanying caption could have been used for a nasty swipe, but instead just mentions Terry performing with other Hollies, plus Steve Van Zandt and Paul Schaefer. Hopefully a step in the right direction.
Oh, and that other Swinging Blue Jean track is 'Don't Ever Change'. I thought it might be a cover of the old Kink's tune, but it's something I've not heard before, and quite a pleasant song in itself.

It's the old song by The Crickets (without Buddy), also covered by The Beatles at the BBC: Strange that The Swinging Blue Jeans were covering the song so late, but then again they also recorded 'This Boy' in 1966... Not keen on 'When I'm 64', but I'm impressed by their cover of 'Bowling Green'. Here's a link to the songs in case anyone needs it: Unreleased Swinging Blue Jeans songs

I see Graham and Allan are 'f*****g w*****s' according to Tel on Twitter, linked to his homepage.

A good photograph of Terry and Bernie Calvert has appeared on TS's Twitter feed. The former is playing this weekend in Liverpool. I also forgot to mention that there was a photograph and details of a gig played by them both in the mid/late 1980s, contributed by one of his followers. This must have been a few months back now.

Terry told me in an email a while back that he has 'no problems' with the other Hollies (yeah...)
He still has his business interests with them re royalties etc, so he's not completely out of the picture
- I may be wrong but I have always suspected the 'rants' are done after a few beers...and are often then quickly deleted next day !! (when in a clearer state of mind perhaps ?) just my guess....
Terry NEEDS to 'mend bridges' and use his Hollies past to his own advantage, calling Allan & Graham names won't hurt them at all, only HIM...!
younger Hollies fans won't be impressed, older fans who recall happier days just feel saddened by any ongoing acrimony, so it's nothing but negative
Allan, Graham, The Hollies just 'distance' themselves by keeping a complete dignified silence, so any rants don't hit home anyway
a more positive celebration of at least the 'happier days' will assist Terry's solo career and his standing as a key Merseybeat and sixties/seventies pop/rock figure of some note
Thanks to his 'Hollie days' Terry is only the FIFTH Liverpudlian to be inducted into the American R & R Hall of Fame ..."and you know that can't be bad"
so Terry should always put a 'positive spin' on his Hollies links (whatever his actual 'issues' with them) and GAIN from his past association with them - for his own advantage
hope the new website keeps it all in a good light
I LOVED The Everlys later hit 'Bowling Green' ('ching' !) and recall seeing them perform it on a sixties edition of 'Top of The Pops' - it is a song included on The Everlys performance on the Australian 'Bandstand' DVD which is out in 'all regions' format I think

There's a fun pic of Terry and Bernie together on Terry's Twitter feed. Taken just the other night in Clitheroe, where the two dined out at an Indian restaurant apparently.

Did anyone here save these 3 songs? I wish I had myself now, as Terry's website has disappeared!

I'd somehow missed these as well so made for a very curious listen. I can happily live without hearing "When I'm 64" again but that take on "Bowling Green" is pretty good! A pity Wally Ridley no doubt turned his nose up at that one.

Great covers of one of my favourite Sgt Pepper tracks and one of my favourite later Everly tracks. Terry and co do them Merseybeat justice! ☺ I hope I don't get in trouble for suggesting this, but I'm sure there's a few SoundCloud to mp3 converters about...
