Hey There! This is my first post in a long time this since I've lost my former email's password (and logged a few months ago as kingmidasinrever5e).
While on youtube today, I came across with this audio video
Probably some of you have already heard it but to me it is the very first time. Seriously I didn't know The Hollies covered a Jim Morrison song. I really like those musical vibes on this. Allan's harmonica always created that bluesy atmosphere on most Hollies' renditions. Can anyone add more background info please?
Thanks a lot

I have heard it before, gee they do a great version of this song. I have a cassette of a 90’s concert and they sing songs like Woman, Please Please Me, I think they may have got bored and wanted to bring in something different. I have heard a great version of Pinball Wizard. I think because they toured the uk yearly they could drift away from the Hits.

I always find interesting the fact of how do they selected their set list songs. I think mostly the addition of other bands songs (due to them likes, maybe?) . it is very rare to me.

First time hearing this too - only a casual Doors fan, but they sure make this one their own! Though this is later, it sounds like it would've fitted nicely on Distant Light or Hollies (1974) had they recorded it. One thing to admire about the group live, regardless of which line-up, is their ability to masterfully cover and reinvent songs you'd least expect from them - everything from Blood Red Roses to Purple Rain!
Also, Anthony, which Woman song did they perform live? The John Lennon or Paul McCartney/Peter and Gordon one? I love both songs so it'd be a treat to hear them do one or the other.

Eye deer: The Hollies--The Bootleg Series. A one-off box set of concerts, several from every (Allan) decade. Or a continuing series, one concert per year/per tour. Kinda like what Bob Dylan is doing. Groovy baby, yeah...
