Is anyone aware or have a copy of the Japanese issue of the Out On The Road CD, Supposed to have been release on 11 July 2007. Issued on the Vivid label cat # VSCD 4745?
Me thinks it might just be the Magic issue but who knows. it has the same bonus tracks as that French CD.

No idea. I know for certain that the Hollies LTD will NOT release the master tapes for Out On The Road. Apparently it's not so much that they don't want to add to the Rickfors era, but that apparently there's some legal wrangles between the songwriting credits for Rickfors/Sylvester/Hicks. So no issue of the album that's already been released can be from the master tapes, just a vinyl rip at best. I've never heard a good vinyl rip of the LP though as Hansa messed about with the EQ when pressing it, giving it a hard, bass-y sound. It took me months to copy a few tracks from the LP to CD satisfactorily: soundcloud.com/cameronb-39/the-last-wind

It is one of their better albums, I was amazed when a friend of mine in America sent me his spare copy (the LP is really THAT rare!) as none had been on eBay. I've always loved Romany, and Out On The Road is just as good. With the Hollies taking more time in the studio and being more experimental with the music, I've always wondered what they'd have been like if Allan hadn't returned, or if they'd disbanded when he did and started again (like the Small Faces did to become the Faces) then they wouldn't have had to carry the weight of their back catalogue around with them. Their music with Rickfors is really interesting and there's no "throwaway" tracks from that phase to be heard!

Hi Cameron! One of my all time favorite Hollies LPs is OUT ON THE ROAD with Mickael Rickfors. I've played this LP so many times. Just great. They were just different Hollies in terms of sound - but also very good Hollies. I would be very happy to receive your revised songs from Out On The Road LP. I also have tons of trading material there. I would be very happy to receive a message - kraft.alfons@web.de

I spotted the posting on youtube by Norman Nelson
- if you go onto youtube and type in: Romany / Out On The Road The Hollies you should find it, however the replies section has been turned off it appears, you could subscribe to Norman Nelson's youtube channel which has a number of other albums by Hollies - including Write On / Russian Roulette - plus other artists posted under his videos / playlist
however his contact details appear to be scant !

Been listening to the Discs from Changin Times Hollies 5 cd collection. With the Rickfors era, some songs I really love, others not keen on at all. It sure is a bigger sound, Terry features a lot more. It would be interesting to see what would have happened if Rickfors stayed on with the band. Harmonies were brilliant, not keen on the Ballard's tho. Maybe just to use to Allans voice, really love Transatlantic Westbound Jet and Out on the road. Wont you feel good that morning is a brilliant Hollies song, best opening trek of any of their albums in my opinion.
