I suppose an updated version of that pipe guitar thing could be Brian Chatton's keyboard 'guitar' which he played on the Hollies single from the 1980s 'Take My Love And Run'.

I think they were called a 'Key-tar' or something like that
- I recall they were all the rage back in the 80's for a time
Patrick Moraz also used one in The Moody Blues on John Lodge song 'Rock and Roll Over You' in 1986
- seen here in rare poor VHS tape quality fan filmed footage live in Denver on 2 September 1988
ironic but now cut out of many old 80's era group photos and regarded as just a one time 'mere sideman' (but back then FULL credited group member) Patrick Moraz is about as popular in Moodies circles as Terry Sylvester is in Hollies eyes now...!
