Ironic considering the charity single. Doubt Allan would be thrilled by this.

Ironic considering the charity single. Doubt Allan would be thrilled by this. Think they're losing it completely ☹️

[img alt=" " src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png" class="smile"] Nice one😉Hey, don't get me wrong, they were wrong on all levels, BUT I was just bemused how a song that gets absolutely no airplay in UK, is still such an iconic song over there? It really doesn't even register here.

It's very American guitar rock. The kind you cruise the strip with in your muscle car or pickup truck, played loud (Like Radar Love by Golden Earring, a Dutch band, and early 70s Deep Purple). Some Americans also thought it was Creedence Clearwater Revival which gave it some rock cred at first I'm sure, then it blew up from there.
Meanwhile, the UK was in their glam rock Bowie, TRex stage, which didn't translate as well to mid-America. Just different musical cultures.

Surely 'The Air That I Breathe' would make a better lockdown release anthem?

Surely 'The Air That I Breathe' would make a better lockdown release anthem? Thank you - that's the best laugh I've had this week!
