Is there anyone out there in Hollies collector land that can give me a reference point to be able to work out what issue of the UK 20 Golden Greats CD it is that I have. It has been issued several times in the UK with the last most likely in the set with the Dylan album. I take it that that is the same one as issued in 2000.
I am trying to see where my issue sits in these releases. I am guessing that my copy is from 87 or 88. It, I believe it was issue in both those years about 18 months apart and both have the same catalogue # CDP 7 46238 2. Not sure if all the bar codes at the same for each issue. The one I have is 0 77774 62382 7. I never got around to purchasing any of the others I guess just because I had the one I've got.
Were any of them remastered at any time and is it worthwhile chasing up.

I have the CD listed as Discogs no 5747935 from 1987 pressed in West Germany. Also the twin album CD with Dylan added. They have the same CDP number. Then I have the South African CDEMJ 5642 with a different front picture. AC in the middle, Coates to the left.

Dirtyfaz,
I have this also as a Japanese pressing. Send me a message to my home email. I misplaced yours.
Thanks, Mark

Yes, but that is difficult with Discogs as the release date is not given for the different versions. The matrix number on my West German CDis the same as you have.

Hi Knut I use Discogs but only as a reference as it is not always complete ie year of issue. I guess they rely on people supplying them information to upgrade their information. There is a lot of really great information on the site for even the most anal of people and sometime I fit that category.
I have all my Hollies CDs in music collector which is fine but doesn't give me all the fields that I would like. Maybe there is a way but anyway I have started an Excel database in slowly working my way through all my information trying to combine what I would like to see in the one place.
I thing there is a couple of months work getting all the data into Excel even just doing maybe 5 CDs a day. Just the regular CDs is relatively easy but doing compilations is a mess and they use tracks from all kind of sources. Makes for a very varied catalogue.
Cheers
