Does anyone know if Allan's first solo LP has ever been reissued from the original master tapes? The only re-release appears to be the 2005 Magic Records release. Strangely, this seems to consistently sell in the region of £50 on Discogs! I don't have a copy, but have heard some bits on YouTube and they appear to be needle drops, which Magic Records were notorious for if they couldn't get their hands on the tapes.

Yeah I have the Magic one but I also did a needle drop for myself, dropped off Oh Granny (Clarke version) and included Coward By Name to it to get all the RCA Tracks together. That is my go to if I am going to listen to 'arold.

I recall chatting to that French guy at Magic re 'Arold' at the time
- he never even knew about 'Coward By Name' hence he failed to include it as a bonus track on his CD release
the only vinyl LP versions appear to be the original 1972 album which still turns up here in the UK at car boot sales and in charity shops
a UK cassette version was released too
no later CD release as far as I am aware and unless Allan himself has the masters I can't see RCA Victor - now BMG I think - putting it out so only if Allan himself decides to do it the chances at the moment seem slim of a proper CD version
but then never say never....

Clark's solo debut was also released on US cassette. I got one awhile back. No doubt there was an 8 track as well.

Absolutely dreadful release from Magic - it would be great for a 'cleaned-up' version from the masters to be released. Even though the release is so hideous, the beauty of 'Nature's Way Of Saying Goodbye' shines through.

Even though the release is so hideous, the beauty of 'Nature's Way Of Saying Goodbye' shines through. "Nature's way of saying goodbye" was always the single to my ears. Perhaps the fact that the band Spirit had a single called "Nature's Way" a year earlier prevented it from being released as a single. Both were on the same label (Epic).

I can’t for the life of me get a clean vinyl rip of this whole album, especially “Nature’s Way of Saying Goodbye” right on the inner edge of the vinyl. Both the UK and US pressings suffer from excessive sibilance, which probably stems from a master tape with too much mid-range on it. I wonder if I could get my hands on an original cassette, though typically in 1971 they weren’t great quality either, but at least the problems with the sound wouldn’t get worse towards the middle of the vinyl due to the limitations of pressing vinyl.

Thanks to Cameron's post I listened to my AC 'Arold cassette and it has the same harsh vocals on Nature as the UK LP. Same problem on Japan and US LPs. However, to me the Spanish LP is less loud and sounds better. Just ordered the German LP.
