Just a question, what do people here think the Hollies greatest achievement is: First time in the charts Poll winners concert First number 1 LCW hitting number 1 in the states Hall of fame longevity
Myself I think it was He ain't heavy reaching number 1 in 1988, 19 years after it peaked at number 2 way back in 1969. What a thrill for this group to be playing top of the pops with a number one after all these years in the business.

Allan Clarke and Graham Nash think their greatest achievement was being approached by the Everly Brothers for material for their "Two Yanks In England" LP, and them taking not one... not two... but EIGHT of the Hollies' own compositions! High praise indeed from Allan and Graham's heroes.
I seem to recall Tony Hicks mentioning his career highlight was playing "Too Young To Be Married" in New Zealand where it was a hit, and them stopping playing half way through the song but the audience carried on singing it. That must be a great feeling when you've written the song to have 10,000+ people singing it acapella without a prompt from the band.
Bobby seems to suggest that "I'm Alive" hitting number one was one of his career highlights. Also Bruce Springsteen coming to thank the Hollies for their cover of "Sandy" and to specifically site Bobby's drums on "Pay You Back With Interest" as a big influence.
Bernie always seems most enthused about the fact that he was plucked out of a factory in Salford and thrust into superstardom when he was called to join the Hollies.

Thanks Cameron, these are all great moments in the History of the Hollies. I know when the Hollies are here and Tony plays Too Young to be Married the audience tend to sing along. It was a number 1 here in Oz. For me Allan's voice was at his very best with this song.

Maybe "He ain't heavy" still being an anthem 50 years on, would hope some radio stations might pick up on this..... Would love to have seen them at The Royal Albert Hall, don't know of any recording...... Hall of fame would be up there I would suggest...
