If he's an "good guy" in real life, why the need to be such a jerk on the internet? We've lamented Terry Sylvester for this exact behaviour, which he insists is "all a joke", yet 99.9% of the world don't see it that way. I'm with Gee on this one, I too know a few very good fans who are backing off from joining in on the forum or at least limiting their posts for fear of being the target of Moorlock's next tirade.
Sometimes you have to remove one bad apple to stop it from spoiling the pie.

Pete, send Moorlock a private message and get his phone number. Call and talk to him. You will be very surprised. He is a good good guy. Instead of all this blocking talk, call to get a real feel as to what the guy is like. Stuball is dead on right. Because someone is really a nice guy in private doesn't mean he can just have a free pass to continue to insult people on forums. I'm sure he is not really the bitter person he portrays and I believe its an act to get attention. But we have all read what Simon has said, he was sick of the negative and divisive comments, all the others play by the rules.

In general, I have great respect for the knowledge and opinions of the members of this forum and, importantly, the polite and civil manner in which most members write their comments. Indeed, on many occasions I have felt it a privilege to read the scholarly writings of members.
In my social life, I have never found a shortage of people who wish to discuss The Beatles, The Stones and The Who (to name a few); however, I have never encountered anyone with more than a passing interest in The Hollies. Therefore, it is a pleasure to participate in this forum with others who share my passion for the band. I certainly hope that this forum continues for many years to come!
To enable this to occur though, all members should be respectful to each other; disagree with opinions if you must, but be polite in your response. I don’t wish to sound so “fatherly”; however, I believe that this is the crux of the matter.

Be careful, I know last time someone said something nasty in return they were held to account, it’s like I’m the victim, the boy who cried wolf. I agree with you 100% Cameron, even reading our replies now he would be getting a cheap thrill. Makes outlandish comments then will not debate it, thank goodness for the 99% of great members here, if not for them I’d be happy not to be part of this group too.

Am I the only one who thinks LCW doesn't sound remotely like Credence? And that Clarkes vocal is nothing like John Fogerty? I've never gotten this whole thing! I don't think it sounds like CCR either (and Allan sounds like Allan whatever he sings), but it is undoubtedly CCR styled, whether accidentally or by design. It is very easy to imagine John Fogerty singing the song in the same key and with a not too different arrangement... perhaps with added 'Green River'-like guitar licks. Then picture him singing 'Bus Stop' or 'King Midas in Reverse' or 'He Ain't Heavy'! Also, as Gee pointed out, the song was a BIG departure for The Hollies. So, if anyone used to The Hollies' harmonies and pop sensibilities was to dislike any song, then this is a good candidate, just as (say) 'Miss You' is by The Rolling Stones. I wonder what "real" fans would think of 'Wiggle That Wotsit' if it had become one of their biggest hits?! Gee, thank you! I think the many magazine reviews speak for themselves. There is this mash-up of Long Cool Woman and Green River to compare. Personally I don't think the voices are similar at all. Not sure about the backing though!!

The sincerest form of flattery (and proof of good musical taste I might add)...and the inspiration of more than one rock and roll classic. What would the Hollies be without the Everly Brothers?

Because Spev (Kushty_Rye) on the Yahoo forum used to call me "Boobs" because she saw the name wrong at first glance and it stuck! (Still does, actually!)

Is that Yahoogroup still going? I was on a few for various things and have removed myself from most of them earlier this year due to the way they have been altered to become completely crap.

I found A group. I don't it's THE group. And all communications seem to be email based now, rendering them pretty much useless. groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Hollies/infoOh, here it is...I followed a link from one of my old emails...Still useless though. groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/thehollies/info

Spev's still part of my present luckily! We stay in touch via Twitter (and formerly Facebook). In fact, my son is now also a friend of hers and has been able to visit her more than I have!

To be honest, haven't heard from her in years. She and Spev drifted apart a long time ago and Peej kind of moved on to focus on her career.
Amazed that one little Hollies forum almost 17 years ago led me to meet so many people (Spev, Nathan, Ruud/Danny of course, Bruce, Beth, Helen) from three different countries face-to-face...while still remaining a Hollies concert virgin!
