Resurgence, shamefully, is missing from the RateYourMusic archive so I was looking to rectify this. I'd like to include, as much as is possible, accurate and complete track credits - can someone give me some information on this, either from the album booklet or their own keener pair of ears?
As far as I can ascertain -
Allan's playing lead on Journey of Regret, which he mentioned in one of his recent radio interviews, and also is presumably doing most of the acoustic strumming throughout. Is it him on bass? - it's quite a simple part. I take it Francis Haynes is handling the keyboard and drum programming, as with the rest of the album.
Obviously we know quite a bit about You Broke My Heart, with a very Allan-esque rhythm part and presumably him playing the second line throughout the song as well. The solo's also obviously, as is well known, handled by his son Samuel.
It's another very Allan part at the start of Door is Slowly Closing, and it wouldn't surprise me if he's playing almost all the guitar parts on this one. Some bits do sound a bit beyond him though. Who's doing the backing vocals?
Allan's wailing away on his harmonica on Keep on Walking, but the guitar doesn't particularly sound like him.
Is he playing anything on I'm Only Sleeping?
Obviously Allan playing a very Long Cool Womanish rhythm again on Heart of Stone. This is Samuel's other lead part, right?
Or is I Don't Know the Reason the one? I also have a suspicion Allan's playing the rather straightforward key pad part in the verse and prechorus, as it sounds to me like a GarageBand preset.
I assume he's strumming along on an acoustic on Don't Let Me Down.
Long Cool Woman's got some more blues harp and is pretty guitar-dense, so it might have Allan on rhythm. Once more another candidate for that vexing second Sam Clarke part...
To my ears he might be playing the electric rhythm part at the very start of I'm Coming Home.
Really would like your help, guys!
