Description in english:
This is a Gibson ES 345 guitar built in the year 1961, which wrote a chapter of rock history. The guitar was played by Tony Hicks during the „Hot Sixtys“, Lead Guitarist and Singer of the Band „the Hollies“.
I bought this guitar in 1980 in the shop „Music – Center“, in Hamburg/Germany, later be called „Nr.1“. You see the originel bill and a signed Polaroid photo which shows Tony with my guitar between the photos above. Further there are some pictures of Tony, two with the black refinished guitar of mine, I guess the other shows the guitar in original shape in red sunburst. Actually I try to contact Tony for detailled information about this guitar, but it failed till today.
That this guitar was built in 1961 is an information from the „Music-Center“ shop where I bought it. Unfortunatly Tony has the serial number painted over, but I think it can be carefully restored, because of Gibson has hammered it in the backside of the head.
You will find several Videos on Youtube, where Tony is seen, playing this guitar, for example „I can't let go“ , from 1966.
Let me talk about the price. Vintage guitars will be sold up to 30000€ and an instrument like mine, which is refinished and in a good shape, normally has a price between 8000€ an 10000€. But my instrument was refinished by a Rockstar for his own usabilities especially in the sixtys, which was the decade of „black and white“. You can See on the Photo from 1964, everything is black and white, the Instruments also. So this is an additional worth (!) for the one, who buys this instrument and this additional worth will growing up year by year, too.
The ES 345 has a brassy Bridge/Tailpiece and cream– coulered Pick Up brackets now, but I still have the original parts.
The guitar is in a very good shape, merely at the backside there is a little crack in the lake – not in the wood (see the photos).
I am a guitarist, not a collector, and the reason why I have chosen this instrument in 1980 was not because this is a special one, played by a rockstar etc. The reason was: this was the best, warmest and (!) loudest sounding guitar in the shop, compared with ten or twelve others, playing without and with an Amp.
And I have played this guitar for more than 35 years nearly every day – be sure, you can hear it...
The guitar comes with its original case. It must be picked up from my home. Any way of shipping is decided and payed by the buyer and by his own risk. The price below of 150€ for shipping is just because it is not possible to leave this field empty.
