Interesting that he calls the book "Volume One"! Obviously that's just a tease, taken 39 years to release vol 1...

I wish Bobby's book was out now.
With no football to look forward to for the next few weeks, it would have been an ideal time to sit down and read it!

After receiving Bobby's book during the week and having read it, i will say it is an interesting read. From one Malc to a Malco - I too found it 'interesting', but then again, how relevant is it we get to find out about Eric's unsightly nose-picking habits or the art of 'gas-lighting' - and yet not read a word about Midas, Butterfly, Gasoline Alleys or Wiggling Wotsits ? I realise its a collection of personal memories but...

How have people managed to get hold of the book already?

How have people managed to get hold of the book already? I was wondering the same thing. However, I've had a couple of discs sent out early from record companies due to COVID-19 and the likely effect it'll have on distribution etc.

Apparently it's out now in America via the Book Depository. Rob Haywood has also said on Facebook that people who've ordered signed copies through the Hollies' website have had theirs dispatched today.
This kind of thing really irritates me: The launch date has always been 2nd April. Bobby is even mentioning the 2nd April in interviews. Yet how come so many people have had it early? The same thing happened with Allan's new solo album, it was released two weeks early in Germany before anywhere else in the world. If I'd have known that, I'd have bought a copy in Germany. I can completely understand the Hollies' official website getting books out to people first, but it never actually stated that on the website. If it had, I'd have ordered it via their site. I've had a standard paperback copy on Amazon on pre-order since the book was first listed and also bought a limited hardback signed copy from the Flood Gallery, but neither have been dispatched yet. It didn't appear on their official website until after Amazon listed it and after both the Flood Gallery and Rough Trade listed signed copies. I kind of regret ordering from the Flood Gallery as the postage is extortionate but you can't cancel the order once it's been made.

My book is on the way, really looking forward to the read, these times when we are spending more time at home it couldn't have come out at a better time. Without saying who, does the book say who was thrown out of the American night club?

Booktopia sent the book out last week. About the fellow in question who was mentioned in 'Stop Stop Stop' it does not confirm the rumours.

Can't even remember if it's next day delivery or 48h. Anyway, hopefully it will arrive soonish - but Royal Mail does have a lot to cope with these days.

If the content is as trivial and inane as complaining about Eric Haydock's hygiene and if the reason Tony and Bobby didn't attend the R&R Hall of Fame was because they were still mad at him, then they are two very petty people. I for one am not enthusiastic about this book at all.

I for one am not enthusiastic about this book at all. Neither am I. From the snippets we're hearing, I fear it will be filled with fatuous trivialities, while steering well clear of those Hollies meat and potato issues that we would all love to learn about. We've all debated these points over and over on this site, and yet it appears we will learn nothing of note. Can't say I'm surprised though. 'Talk and say nothing' seems to be the modus operandi here. Makes me wonder what was the point of writing a book in the first place. If diehard Hollies fans are not interested, who in the world would buy the damn thing? Still hope to be proven wrong, but I have my doubts.

Cohen's exit and Clarke's 'issues' are mentioned but nothing re Evolution (possibly as Bobby was seriously ill then) or sadly re Butterfly
- it's basically his memoirs but hardly a comprehensive Hollies History....so scope for a more detailed book covering ALL eras remains

About as likely as one on the Dave Clark Five I suspect. Maybe Allan's book which somebody mentioned he's working on might be a bit more candid whilst still politely evading some of the thornier issues.

I'm really pleased I got my copy, really looking forward to reading it and hearing Bobs life as a Hollies, wouldn't imagine its gonna be dig up the dirt of stuff book, would we really want that, I know when you hear the truth about things you loved it can leave a sour taste and you never seem to enjoy that thing again. Maybe terry is the man you need for the nasty side of the story, but then again when you seem bitter it could be very clouded in what is the truth. Looking forward to one day hearing what people like about the book.

Thanks for that. ☺ Some great studio tales from Bobby in that podcast alone, as well as some surprising lesser known track choices (Man With No Expression, Touch) throughout!

For some reason Amazon cancelled my order. I guess I will wait and purchase at another time after some of the folks here review it.

Also waiting on mine from the Flood Gallery - for £8.00 p&p, maybe it's coming with a pack of toilet rolls, a bag of plain flour and a carton of UHT milk. 🤣

I've just heard from Amazon again and apparently my copy is now on the way.
And I've only been charged £14.51 for the book with free delivery. Not sure how they've come up with that price but I'm certainly not complaining!

I'm curious - I ordered my copy from Amazon very early on, yet it says that the book will be released tomorrow (Thursday 2nd) but won't be sent to me until the 8th
