O.K., so I don't want to start any arguments, or upset anyone about who is, or isn't worthy of a mention, but...the BBC are running a series of radio and TV programmes, about 'Guitar Heroes'. Maybe I've missed something here, but I don't seem to have seen/heard anyone mention Tony? HOW can anyone compile a list of brilliant guitarists, and not include this wonderful man, a sheer maestro of guitar, banjo, dobro etc.? I'm not belittling the talents of Clapton, May etc., and the gent who first got me interested in playing the guitar, Hank Marvin. Put them on the list, by all means. (..but just put Tony at the top!) I just get so annoyed that our Mr.Hicks is not getting the recognition and acclaim he deserves, from the 'outside world' (i.e. those not dedicated to being true-blue Hollies fans - and boy, are those folks missing out...)
Sorry to go on, but I just HAD to write about this, and preferably to others of a like mind.

Get used to it. Sorry!
The Hollies simply weren't/aren't 'cool' enough to feature on such lists, which generally always rehash the same list over and over and over...
There are well thought of guys like John McLaughlin, Tommy Bolin, Robin Trower et al who hardly ever feature in these programmes. After all, the public at large might not recognise them, so...
