I started collecting vinyl in 1964 and I still have (almost) every record that I was given or bought over the years, even though I rarely play them anymore. I started buying CD’s in 1987 after The Beatles gave “their blessing” to the CD format. The digital format for many years has been my main mode of listening due to the ease of playing and arranging of data files. I can also back my files up to the “Cloud”, which gives me some peace of mind. However, like others here, I have now reached a stage where I have virtually ceased buying vinyl and CD’s unless something very special comes along.
56 years on, most of the artists we grew up with and loved are unknown to younger generations. Even the huge names such as The Beatles and The Stones aren’t important to the kids of today. Let alone The Hollies who always lacked an image in Australia! Within my family there are several persons who would be very happy to be left vinyl by The Beatles, John Lennon, The Stones, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC-DC and some other Aussie bands, but I fear there would be little interest displayed in the rest of my collection. So I too share the same dilemma as others on this forum.
Thank you everyone for your helpful thoughts on this subject which impacts many of us; some sooner than others, but not too soon I trust!

Like most on here, I can't think of anyone who would want my Hollies collection after I'm gone. The few people I know who are still Hollies fans are my age and older, and everyone else I know are as much interested in the group and their records, that it might as well be a collection of mid-70's Paper Lace discs!
I drastically cut down on my 'stuff' about a decade ago. Now I just enjoy the original '60's and '70's LPs that I've had since I was young. I've got a few CDs and some old 45s as well.
When I divested myself of all that product, I thought I might come to regret it. But I can't really say that I have. Actually, there's a real feeling of relief, to be lighter and especially that I can now put my finger instantly on the number I want to play. Much better than the old: 'I've know I've got it here somewhere! I saw it just the other day! If I can only put my finger on it!' frustration. Who needs it?

There are some (slightly) younger Allan and Hollies' fans who are still collecting. I buy whatever I can find. I envy the collections that a lot of you have amassed.
I love the sound from vinyl so I concentrate on buying records over cds. I play the records all the time.
I have purchased a couple of items from Discogs that were offered by Canadian dealers and had a good experience with that. I love the rush of finding an album in shops that are more local. That doesn't happen very often.
I want to add these albums in particular to my collection: Allan Clarke (self-titled), Best of Allan Clarke and Reasons To Believe (I have that on cd only.), all singles released by Allan (I have Castles In The Wind), and Stay by The Hollies.
When I was in Glasgow in July, I found the Buddy Holly album, Headroom and the U.K. version of I Wasn't Born Yesterday. Major rush finding those! I am going to continue my search when I go back in August.
Who will want my collection when I cross? I have no clue, but that won't stop me from adding to it and loving the music.

Do you think you might be able to upload a CD rip of Reasons To Believe, on quite another note? I've also not really had a chance to build a collection up to this point.

Sorry, I don't have the first clue how to upload a cd.

For starters, I propose this: I’m going to make a effort to put every Hollies related variant/release that’s not available officially or easily on CD/Download up on my HolliesRareandUnreleased YouTube channel. Cameron, any chance of uploading Roll Over Beethoven and Reelin' and Rockin'? I've never heard them and I'm curious whatever the quality!

Sorry, I don't have the first clue how to upload a cd. It'd probably be easiest to upload it to a public Google Drive or Dropbox folder and then share that on the forum. Nothing wrong if you can't, I'd just like a chance to hear this album that's basically unavailable elsewhere.

Allan mentioned in a recent interview that he has all the tapes from the recording of this album. He said he just may release this album again if he feels there is enough interest. Here's hoping!
