Allan was on the show for about 15 minutes. Not much new news, other than they're now pushing 'Don't Let Me Down' as a single - though I can't see where it's been released as a single? Not on Spotify at least.
Allan says that he and Jeni have been held up at home for about three weeks now, waiting for the Covid-19 pandemic to blow over. She's been sculpting and he's been playing around in his studio. He says he's moved on from GarageBand and onto Logic Pro now. He was planning to send some demos over to Graham and Graham was in agreement to work with Allan again on a duo album to "complete the circle", though Allan didn't rule out doing something else with Graham if it was to be successful. He seemed extremely optimistic and hopeful for his future as a recording artist.
I'm deeply frustrated for Allan - he's got this great material and big news like plans to work with Graham; why is it being discussed for 15 minutes on an evening show on a regional local radio show? Seems bizarre to me. I know he's recently signed up with a PR agent, and I had hopes of this getting him the exposure that he deserves. But I found out about this interview, like many of the others, via a fan on Facebook. No official word from Allan's social media presence. I really just want the stars to align for him and he get the same kind of exposure that Graham Nash gets when he puts out a new album. Graham Nash and CSNY CDs have all been available even in supermarkets here in the UK in recent years! I'd have said that the Hollies/Allan Clarke are way more prominent to most UK citizens than CSNY/Graham Nash.

It goes back to my irritation about most of these promotional interviews being for BBC radio. I still think Allan would reach the right audience better if more rock podcasts got him on their show, especially international ones.

You're absolutely right. He needs to get on Jools Holland's live show when it's back on the air. That's THE show that makes or breaks artists in the UK now. It's pretty much the only mainstream outlet for new music and artist revivals in the UK. I'm more than confident that he will be up to the live performance of his tracks. He's done the two highest profile BBC radio shows - Sounds of the Seventies with Johnnie Walker and Steve Wright in the Afternoon. These little regional ones seem pointless.
I think some contact needs to be made with some of the high profile rock podcasts. They'll love to feature him for his link with the Hollies anyway, let alone promoting his fabulous new album. I seriously think this album can crack America if it's marketed properly, starting with revising the cover. I get the sentiment behind it, but there's some lovely up to date shots of Allan inside the booklet which would help get his face out there, as he's still recognisable I feel. Perhaps get him to re-record a Hollies hit like he hinted in the above interview, tag it onto the album and re-release it in America with a new cover that actually gets his face out there. Then get Allan to do a promotional trail. It can all be done. Maybe he doesn't want the exposure though? He famously hasn't in the past.
