We have had collections of songs with orchestral accompaniment, 'Love Songs', 'Little Names' (!), and 'Ballads' album 5317704 plus A's and B's set etc...
BUT what if for a change they put together a compilation of guitar led more powering Hollies numbers by the Clarke-Hicks-Sylvester 'Mark 2' Hollies line up going from say 1970 to 1980 ?
wouldn't such a Hollies twenty two track compilation CD make an interesting collection - WITHOUT a slow ballad in sight !
here's a suggested track listing;
1. Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress) 2. Hey Willy 3.Perfect Lady Housewife 4..The Day That Curly Billy Shot Down Crazy Sam McGee 5.Tip of The Iceberg 6.Down On The Run 7.Rubber Lucy 8.Transatlantic Westbound Jet 9.Out On The Road 10. No More Riders 11.Look Out Johnny 12.Time Machine Jive 13.You Gave Me Life 14.Crocodile Woman (She Bites) 15.48 Hour Parole 16.Russian Roulette 17.Louise 18.Crossfire 19.Burn Out 20.That'll Be The Day 21.Think it Over 22. If The Lights Go Out
All titles by Clarke-Hicks-Sylvester 'Mark 2' Hollies
I would keep such a set to just the one incarnation of the group for continuity reasons
I think such a compilation CD would both spotlight the more guitar led version of the 'Mark 2' Hollies and make a refreshing change from all those slow ballads !

Could not stand the late Ballad albums, they were so boring, I really Liked daddy Don't mind, would love to see that here. I thought Russian Roulette was the last good album of the 70's. It had some real up tempo numbers.. Only song that was to me a real nothing song was Be With You, great harmonies but boring.
