Here's a topic I've thought about for a while which might be fun to kick around:
Imagine you have a good friend, who through their misfortune had never got into The Hollies. And you want to introduce him/her to the group and their music. But you can choose only 4 albums for them to listen too. Which four would you pick?
The only caveat would be this: Being that you want to give the first-time listener somewhat of an overview of The Hollies career, you don't pick all 4 LPs from one chronological era (i.e. Stop! Stop! Stop!', 'Evolution', 'Butterfly', etc.), even if they are your 4 personal faves.

This is an interesting question given we are in 2019 and trying to select 4 LPs recorded 40/50 years ago that may impress a new listener.
Evolution, Confessions Of The Mind, Romany & Another Night. I would have put in a couple of others and if you ask me tomorrow I would have a different 4.

My four would be:
Would You Believe
Stop! Stop! Stop!
Romany
Hollies (1974)
Although it really is a tough choice, with so many great LPs to choose from. It really makes you realize what a truly great group The Hollies were, when I have to leave The likes of Evolution, Confession of a Mind, Distant Light, Out On The Road and Another Night warming the bench!

My 4 would be: Stay With The Hollies, Evolution, Confessions Of The Mind, Live Hits (1977) Interesting John, that you would include 'Live Hits'. I must admit it wasn't really on my radar when considering a top four. I suppose in the back of my mind, I grouped it as a 'greatest hits' package, which is totally wrong and unfair. Glad to see you included it, as The Hollies were a fabulous live act, and this LP serves as living testament to that.

I wanted to show "this good friend, who through their misfortune had never got into The Hollies" what a great live band they were.
