Moorlock, really sorry if you have some personal problems. But why spill it over on Peter Howarth? Allan Clarke is the original and best Hollies-frontman ever. He’s outstanding. No 2 is is Mikael Rickfors. A brave decision to bring him on, but he contributed to change the hit- focused band to become an innovative super music act. The Rickfors- period is musically outstanding. Carl Wayne wasn’t a part of the band, it was a period of Carl Wayne show interrupted by some Hollies ingredients. In my opion Peter Howarth is close to the Allan Clarke original, but of course it’s not Allan. First time I saw him with The Hollies was at Royal Albert Hall some 14-15 years ago. He was nervous and didn’t interact with the audience. I didn’t like it. I’ve seen The Hollies at least 20 times since then. Now he’s a real professional entertainer. Love his soloacts, his way to perform and being a part of The Hollies-act! He’s a very professional and a skilled supersub for our Allan! He’s a Hollie! Howarth is a superb Hollie today! I can imagine he was very nervous back then, I have seen Pete with the Hollies 9 times in the UK since 2011 and all of their trips to Oz, he is a very good showman, has a pleasant personality, plays brilliant guitar, and I know a lot will disagree, but the Hollies harmonies sound just fine to me. You are right about Carl, saw them once, a bit like Carl Wayne and the Hollies. I believe he was good for the band tho, from what I had heard from very reliable sources Allan's voice had gone , attendances were down, I remember a lot of Move fans became interested in the Hollies when Carl joined, plus I believe he was a really nice guy and a real showman. I would love to hear who Moorlock thinks should be lead singer of the Hollies, at work they say don't knock come up with a solution. In the end we have our opinions.

with respect who do you think should be the lead singer of the Hollies, so far you refuse to answer, instead of just knocking what's your solution, are you waiting for Allan to return. I know you were a big Rickfors fan and his time with the group was very good, a bigger sound, but in the end they gave him with flick without a second thought. I believe they never toured the UK with him either. I remember Tony saying in an interview many years ago his lack of English meant that after every song another member had to rush to the mike to talk to the audience. Maybe he wasn't as perfect as some would like. These are all facts, not just a vendetta saying I don't like the guy.

I know the question wasn't aimed at me, but I'd go for Tony, Bobby, Ray and Ian... with Wayne Fontana and Alan Coates. As Cameron has pointed out, Peter Howarth would sound better if The Hollies had a decent harmony vocalist, so at the very least the return of Mr Coates would benefit the band greatly.

Not a bad line up, thanks. Wayne was a 60's legend so thanks. I know I sound like a broken record, but if you think someone can do better who do you suggest, that's all I've been asking. no right or wrong answer.
