Yes! This is true! Recent news from Allan is that he has written and recorded 6 new songs! I can't tell you any other info at this point simply because I don't know anything else.
Whether these are simply demos, what plans he has for them, where they were recorded, who is involved - I don't know. But for this Hollies tragic, any new music from Allan is very welcome. We've seen albums in later life from the likes of Chuck Berry, David Bowie, Graham Nash et al discussing themes about mortality, wisdom and the benefits of experience that I'd be keen to see what AC has chosen to write about these days.
I'll be sure to post updates if I can find out more. I really want to hear his voice again. Cheers Simon

excellent news indeed !
I'd heard some rumour about Allan either having a throat operation or some kind of 'vocal re-training' etc that after such a long rest of his singing voice might mean his voice had recovered enough for at the very least new studio recordings (?)
whatever, Simon's news suggests Allan IS vocally up for new recordings at least - Nash had spoken about 'Allan's voice being up to it' a while back too which seems to indicate that maybe time has done some vocal chord healing for him ?
- fingers crossed anyway that we might get a solo album from AC in the future

This is amazing. We all know that The Hollies were offered a Hyde Park concert with the BBC Orchestra that eventually went to ELO.

Has anyone heard anything more about this? Hearing Allan's voice again would be.....there are no words to describe the feeling.

I suppose if there were any further news it would have appeared on here, i think the clue is knowing what GWN is currently up to.

Toby Clarke just posted that Allan's new album is nearly finished. A Graham contribution would be expected.

Hi all, I'm new to this forum...
I've been a Hollies superfan for years now, as well as an extensive collector of theirs on CD and vinyl, but alas, I had never discovered a Hollies discussion area like this. For a while I had steadily gone in and out of Hollies obsession, though I never stopped listening - but I rarely, if ever, found other fans of such a high mark in terms of wealthy knowledge. Another thing being that new Hollies releases and such hadn't really happened and nothing much to know.
I've definitely come back around to being a 24/7 full time Hollies obsessive and in recent months have been looking over this forum a bit, but weary of joining perhaps. I'm absolutely astounded and overjoyed at all of these new Hollies things and developments going on, plus the wide range of people who truly enjoy them as I do.
I'm glad to be here and looking forward to discovering all of these upcoming treasures along with you! (Hearing Allan again would complete me in so many ways!)

Welcome in MPB. you are correct about the wealth of knowledge on this site. Every now and then things can get robust about topics but I think no malice is intended. We all have our favourite period Hollies. Again welcome.

Great to have you here MPB and please don't be shy about posting. We love hearing from all Hollies fans. As Dirtyfaz has said, there are quite a few differences of opinion on this board but everyone gets along (mostly!) I kinda like that in the age of Facebook, Youtube, Instagram et al, there are still old school discussion boards, like this one, where lots of people continue to lurk. It's obviously not a super sexy looking board but it's still - IMHO - the best single place on the web to learn of all the minutiae on The Hollies. Glad you found us and welcome aboard. cheers Simon

Thank you both very much, I really appreciate it. Good info to know, haha. I agree completely Gralto, this simplistic style works really well I'll add.
Cheers to you both fellas!

I wonder what label the AC release will be on, do we assume that GWN has had something to do with this?

I wonder what label the AC release will be on, do we assume that GWN has had something to do with this? Nope, in an interview a couple of weeks ago Graham didn't know Allan was recording. Only seems to have found out when they met in the UK. I guess the two don't have that much contact these days.

In the latest issue of Record Collector you can read following from Graham talking about Allan: "We talk regularly and rumor is that he's back in the studio - maybe I´ll pluck up on the courage and ask him what he's doing"
